How To Be Spiritual In The Modern Era (8 Simple Tips)
I get it. You’re busy. You’ve got a LOT on your plate…
Sometimes the modern world is so damn hectic that we forget to nurture and explore our spiritual side.
But you should always take some time out to look after yourself, your happiness and your spiritual side no matter how busy you are… or else you might just find yourself losing your mental sanity.
And taking time out to indulge your spiritual side doesn’t have to involve complicated or lengthy ‘rituals’ or studying at some Tibetean Buddhist monestary for 21 years.
Here are 8 really simply but effective pieces of spiritual wisdom that you can use and apply to your own life in order to become more spiritual and happy in the 21st century.
Tip #1: Recognize that worrying about things that you can’t control is truly and utterly pointless and a waste of your energies…
Accept that s#*t is ALWAYS going to happen and there is not a thing that you can do about it.
Have confidence in your ability to deal with problems as they arise but don’t over stress yourself over situations that haven’t even occurred yet.
When worry creeps into your mind for something that’s irrational or unavoidable squat it like a FLY!
Tip #2: Start each day by counting your blessings and focusing your mind on the GOOD stuff that is going on in your life.
Too often we get accustomed to our lifestyles and start to take things for granted… leading to a lower sense of overall appreciation of life.
Even worse we often tend to dwell on the negatives and all the bad things that have gone on in our lives and don’t take time to think about and really appreciate the good stuff.
Spend a few minutes every morning thinking about all that you have accomplished and all that you are grateful for. It’ll light up the rest of your day
Tip #3: Practice simple meditations.
Many people underestimate the power of a simple meditation. And many more think it’s extremely complicated and hard to do but a meditation can be as simple as taking a few moments out of your day to mentally de-clutter your mind.

Tip #4: Accept your limitations and stop comparing yourself to others.
Don’t focus on what you can’t do – narrow in on what you’re good at and on what brings you the most joy and that’s when you’ll truly start to prosper.
Absolutely nothing good can come from envy and comparing yourself to those that you think are ‘higher up the ladder’.
Accept your imperfections and learn to love yourself for what you are best at.
Tip #5: Let go of grudges and spite… even if they haven’t said sorry yet.
Holding a grudge and bottling up resentment and anger in the hopes that it will hurt the other person is like drinking poison and hoping the other person will die.
It’s just not good for you mentally full stop and again, nothing good can come from it.
So no matter how annoyed you are at that person for whatever he or she may have done… let it go.
You’ll be much happier for it I promise you.
Tip #6: Develop your intuition and learn to trust it.
Allow yourself the freedom to make decisions based on what your gut is telling you. You will be surprised at just how often your intuition is dead on the mark.
Logic and rational thinking is useful sure but sometimes your instincts will kick in in a big way and try to tell you a message that you shouldn’t ignore.
Trust you’re instincts. They’re right on-target more than you think.
Tip #7: Start a diary and get to know yourself.
Start a diary and begin to write down your daily thoughts to start a dialougue with yourself.
There’s no right or wrong way to do it but you’ll be surprised at what starts to come out if you just go about putting a pen to paper.
Write daily and whenever you feel inspired and you’ll soon find yourself learning more about yourself and who you really are inside than you ever thought possible
Tip #8: Spend time in nature.
Nothing has the power to truly empty the mind of all of the nonsense and garbage that we take in like nature.
Go out into the wilderness and just explore. Take a long walk. Notice the little things.
Nature and spirituality are extremely closely connected.
